Black Chick2: My Story

amaxx-b-fitzgerald:

I crept through the tall grass, I could just barely see the little mouse scurry behind the bush.  I stopped at the edge of my hiding place, one wrong move and I would miss my chance.  I went through my plan step by step, I am ready.  I slowly crouch down and get ready to leap, and my eyes zero in on my target.  I go as fast as I can and my front paws land hard on the tail of the little mouse.  Job well done, I scoop it up into my mouth and hurry back to my kittens, they should be waking up soon.

I felt the tingle as I shifted.  The silver strands of hair fell around my face.  I went and nudged my kittens with my pointed nose.  “Wake up,” I whisper gently.  I pranced to the kitchen and set some water to a boil and carefully tossed the mouse into the pot.  My kitties came walking into the room purring with hunger.  I could see the delight in their eyes when they caught wind of the smell of a mouse.  I loved pleasing my kitties.

As I watched my kitties enjoying their food. I solemnly thought back to my life before it came to this. I thought about all the good times I had had with my once family and friends. I thought back to that one Saturday morning when everything changed.

And that’s when I realized I became crazy.  I thought to myself, what am I doing?  Why am I acting like a mother to these kittens?  After all I’m a human being!  I shouldn’t have bizzare thought like this.  Then I realized something, it all started to come back to me.  Just that one day when I was…

left on the side of the road, at the age of 5.  Alone.  I remember I started walking, to no particular place, just walking.  I was just five years old, and my mother had just thrown me out of the car and left.  When I was walking, I saw a stray cat.  Alone.  I picked it up thinking maybe its mom had just left her too.  We ran off into the woods, living in a cave for about 13 years.  I had so many cats by then.  I loved them.  They were my family.

Audrey’s Story

Once there was a chicken and he got out of his coop.  So Audrey, (myself) went to go cut off his head.  Suddenly Ashley came around the corner and the chicken took off running after her.  They both ran like chickens with their heads cut off, except only this time the chicken was the one with out his head.

Ashley built up her bravery and turned around to face the angry chicken.  She whipped around and kicked it right in the neck.  That made it stop in its tracks.  It started spinning in circles and Ashley was confused.  Audrey showed up and grabbed it by its feet, “silly chicken,” she said with a snort.  Ashley gave her a funny look and walked off.  Audrey made her way back to the coop just in time to see Flash, her mut, run up to the other chickens.

Audrey started running to see what Flash was doing.  She saw that he was chasing the chickens away from this stray bird. The stray bird broke his wing and Flash was there to make sure the the bird was alright. Flash was becoming a father.

Flash picked the bird up in his mouth, gently, and took it to his doghouse.  He placed the bird on his bed, giving it comfort.  Audrey’s eyes filled with tears seeing Flash trying to nurse the bird back to health.
